Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) is the third installment in the Terminator franchise, directed by Jonathan Mostow. In this action-packed sci-fi film, a new Terminator, the T-X (Kristanna Loken), is sent from the future to eliminate John Connor (Nick Stahl) and prevent him from leading the human resistance against the machines. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the iconic T-800, tasked with protecting John and Kate Brewster (Claire Danes) as they try to outrun their fate and stop the looming apocalypse.

This is one of my favorite movie shots of Culver City.  The opening credits feature an establishing shot showcasing most of downtown.  When the T-X is pulled over by the police, she parks directly in front of the Culver City Fire Station at 9600 Culver Blvd.

Fun Fact: Terminator 3 is one of at least three Arnold Schwarzenegger movies filmed in Culver City.  Culver City also features prominently in The Running Man and Last Action Hero.

“Hollywoood Minutes,” a fun YouTube channel that showcases filming locations in Culver City, has a video on this scene. Check it out!
