Step Brothers

Step Brothers

Step Brothers is a comedy classic directed by Adam McKay, featuring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as Brennan and Dale, two immature, unemployed forty-somethings who are forced to live together when their parents marry.  This is one of my all-time favorite comedies that gets funnier with each watching.

I’m proud of this Culver City spotting, as I haven’t found it anywhere else on the internet.  Culver City is also only in the film for a couple of seconds.  In the scene, Brennan (Will Ferrell) rides with his mom, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen).  The background of the in the shots of the interior of the car is definitely not Culver City.  It looks like it might be Sunset Blvd or elsewhere.  The exterior shot of the car, however, shows them driving down Vinton Avenue in Culver City.

Brennan and Nancy chat below.  The background is clearly not Culver City.

Brennan will NOT call his new stepfather Dad

An exterior shot of the car shows they are at the corner of Le Bourget Ave and Vinton Ave in Culver City. The Le Bourget sign can be seen, as can the street address “4448” on Vinton Ave on the curb.

The scene ends as they pass 4442 Vinton Ave

If anyone knows how this brief shot of Culver City made it into the film (and if Will and Mary were actually in the car), please post in the comments.
